Block and Insert block

MAKING BLOCK

This is very useful command in autocad. I describe here given below:

Command line: Type  b and press Enter Key

Menu bar: Choose Draw (menu) > Block > Make(option)

Toolbar: From Draw toolbar pick Make Block tool

Block Dialog box

Procedure:

Step 1: Input B command.(anyone of the above ways)[A Dialog box will appear]

Step 2: Type a name  in the Name text box.

Step 3: Click on Select Object button.[Dialog box will disappear]

Step 4: Select objects and press Enter Key to return in block definition box.

Step 5: Click on Pick Point button. [Dialog box will disappear]

Step 6: Pick a point as insertion point .

Step 7: Select Retain Or Convert to  Or Delete option as you need

Step 8: Click OK button to terminate the command.

INSERTING BLOCK

Command line: Type insert or i and press Enter Key

Menubar: Choose Insert (menu) > Block (option)

Toolbar: From Draw toolbar pick Insert Block tool

Insert Block

Procedure:

Step 1: Input INSERT BLOCK command. (anyone of the above ways)[An Insert box will appear]

Step 2: From Name drop down list select the name  you want to insert.

Step 3: Check the Specify On-Screen option (be sure other options are unchecked)

Step 4: Press Enter Key Or click OK button [Insert box will disappear]

Step 5: Pick the point where you want to insert .

INSERTING  WITH SCALE UP/DOWN

Command line: Type insert or i and press Enter Key

Menubar: Choose Insert (menu) > Block (option)

Toolbar: From Draw toolbar pick Insert Block tool

Block using Scale

Procedure:

Step 1: Input  command (anyone of the above ways) [An insert box will appear]

Step 2: From Name drop down list select the name  you want to insert

Step 3: Check the “Specify On-Screen” option of Insertion Point area (Be sure other options are unchecked)

Step 4: Type value for X and Y to scale up/down and press Enter Key (For example: You can type 2 in X and Y text box for double size)

Step 5: Press Enter Key Or click OK button [Insert box will disappear]

Step 6: Pick the point where you want to insert .

SAVING  AS DRAWING FILE(Using file export command)

Procedure:

Step 1: From File menu select export. [Export data box will appear]

Step 2: Open the drop down list of Save as type option and select Block (*.dwg)

Step 3: Type a name for the block file in the File name text box area

Step 4: Click on Save button [Export data box will disappear]

Step 5: Type the  name you want to make it block file and Press Enter

SAVING  AS DRAWING FILE (Using wblock command)

Procedure:

Step 1: Type  w and Press Enter

Step 2: Click on  option

Step 3: From the  drop down list, select the name you want to make  file

Step 4: In the File name box, type a name for the  file

Step 5: From the Location area, select the location where you want to save the file

Step 6: Click on OK button [Export data box will disappear]

REDEFINING (CHANGING)

Procedure:

Step 1: Explode the block you want to change and make necessary change

Step 2: Input BLOCK command [Dialog box will appear]

Step 3: From Name drop down menu select the name  you exploded for changing

Step 4: Click on Select Object button [dialog box will disappear]

Step 5: Select objects to make block again and press Enter Key to return in  definition box

Step 6: Click on Pick Point button [dialog box will disappear]

Step 7: Pick a point as insertion point .

Step 8: Click on OK button [A Redefining warning massage box will appear]

Step 9: Click on Yes button to terminate the command

X-ref Option

REDEFINING (CHANGING) USING REFERENCE EDIT

Command line : Type refedit and press Enter Key

Menubar: Choose Tools (menu) > In-place Xref  > Edit Reference (option)

Toolbar : From Refedit toolbar pick  Xref tool

Procedure:

Step 1: Input REFERENCE EDIT command (anyone of the above ways)

Step 2: Click on the block you want to redefine than click on OK button

Step 3: Select the object (part of block) to edit and press Enter Key

Step 4: Make necessary change you need

Step 5: Click on “Save back change te reference” button on Refedit Toolbbar than click OK button
